HOW YOU CAN HELP
Donations from individuals like you are critical to Sunnyside
Community Services’ ability to continue to operate existing
programs and develop new ones as the needs arise. We are a
tax-exempt not-for-profit organization, so all your gifts
are 100% tax deductible.
Giving without a dime through Goodsearch
You can help SCS without giving a dime by using Goodsearch, a search engine powered by Yahoo! that donates 50% of its revenue to charities of your choice. Use Goodsearch as you would use any search engine, with proven Yahoo-driven results. With SCS as your designated cause, Goodsearch sends us a check with revenue that comes from its advertisers. Start searching at www.goodsearch.com
Giving through Recycling
You can help Sunnyside Community Services AND protect the environment by recycling all kinds of used printer cartridges and old cell phones. We have an arrangement with a nonprofit organization that makes it very easy to recycle, and pays SCS for each item received. If you are interested in helping in this way, please call Roberta Zulawski at (718) 784-6173, ext. 434 (TDD/TTY (800) 662-1220).
Gifts to Honor or Memorialize a
Friend or Family Member
SCS is engaged in a capital campaign to create a new
Senior Center, a new Youth Center, expanded home care training
and office space, and expanded management offices. If you
would like to honor someone you know by naming a room for
him or her, please call for a brochure, or discuss the project
with Sue Fox, (718) 784-6173, ext. 432 (TDD/TTY (800) 662-1220).
One popular way to support our capital campaign is the purchase
of a glass brick in an interior wall of our new Senior Center.
Each brick costs $100. Just make a note of this purchase on
your check, made out to Sunnyside Community Services and sent
to the address above.
Giving at Work
If your employer has a Matching Gifts Program, check with
the human resources department about how you can arrange this.
Designate SCS as a recipient when you donate to United Way
at your job.
Planned Giving
Remember SCS in your will; you will need to discuss this
with your attorney.
Make SCS a beneficiary of your life insurance policy, IRA,
or pension program. |
