Are You a Caregiver?

More than 400,000 New Yorkers are living with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias. It often falls to a family member, such as a partner, child, or parent, to provide the care their loved one needs to remain at home. If you are helping a loved one to perform the usual activities of daily life, you are a caregiver. If you are seeking caregiver support and assistance for someone who is 60 years or older, frail and ill, or you are 55-year-old plus, we can help.

Facing the challenges of providing care, you may feel lost or overwhelmed.  You may experience stress and anxiety, neglect your own health and comfort, and become increasingly isolated.

You are not alone.

Care NYC has a dedicated team of social workers available throughout the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, and Staten Island to help you with the unique challenges you face.  We can help you to enjoy the time that you spend with your loved one while providing care.

Care NYC also provides support to caregivers of older adults living with chronic illness.  And, for those caring for a minor as a grandparent, we can help you manage this tremendous responsibility.

Talk to a Caregiver Support Specialist to see how we can help you. Call 877-577-9337.  Caregiver Support Specialists provide reliable information and access to services including:

  • Respite services, including in-home or social adult day care
  • Long term care planning to help you prepare for the road ahead
  • Applying for Medicaid and other benefits
  • Counseling with understanding professionals
  • Peer support groups
  • Education and caregiver skills workshops
  • Wellness activities
  • And more
