Tai Chi is a gentle physical exercise that involves a series of slow, focused, constant motion, accompanied by deep breathing and meditation. Swing Tai is a combination of both swing dance and Tai Chi, involving constant movement with music and a meditative component. Join Marta Lopez while she leads you on this journey.

    For this session, we will explore drawing mandalas. Mandalas are a meditative drawing technique using concentric circles to create a guide for experimenting with repeating patterns and shapes. This type of drawing can often create feelings of focus and relaxation. No art-making experience is required. All skill levels are welcome. Suggested materials: Paper, pencil, something to add color (i.e: watercolors, colored pencils, markers, crayons, etc. Optional materials: ruler, compass

    For this class, we will explore "contour drawing" as a foundation of observational drawing (drawing what we see). After making pencil still-life drawings, we may have time to add color and details. No experience is necessary. All skill levels are welcome. ALSO: Bring 3-4 objects to arrange in a still life. These will be what you observe and draw. Choose some variety in shape, size and color. Carefully consider the complexity of the objects. You may want to keep the shapes simple depending on how much of a challenge you want.
