School Supply Drive at Sunnyside Community Services

July 9, 2018

Sunnyside Community Services (SCS) is collecting school supplies for children in the programs at the Cornerstone Community Center at Woodside Houses and at the Boulevard Family Residence.

“The cost of basic school supplies can be more than some families can afford every year,” said Sheena Sukhraj,  Assistant Executive Director of Youth and Family Services at Sunnyside Community Services. “We can help our children have a better school experience by making sure they have the tools they need to succeed.”  According to Sukhraj, SCS is looking to collect sufficient supplies for 200 students before August 27.

You can drop off supplies at Sunnyside Community Services, 43-31 39th Street, on the first floor by the welcome desk from 8:30 a.m. until 8:30 p.m., Monday through Friday from July 9 to August 27.  Suggested items include notebooks, backpacks, paper, markers, pens, pencils, rulers, crayons, copy paper, legal pads, pocket folders, glue sticks, Post-its, erasers, flash drives, calculators, tissues, hand sanitizers, and other school items.  If you prefer to buy online, shop at and pick Sunnyside Community Services.  Shop from SCS’ Wishlist: SCS' Amazon Wishlist here.
