Friendly Visiting

If you are a senior who is unable to get out of the house to visit with friends, we can connect you to a new friend. We match seniors with volunteers with shared interests.

Volunteers visit once a week, and a typical visit lasts one hour. You and a volunteer can enjoy activities together such as playing board games, sharing stories, or discussing books, music, or current events.

Pet Pals

If you are a senior who is struggling to care for a beloved pet, our Pet Pals Program can help.  The program will match you to a volunteer to ensure that you and your pet can stay together at home.  Our Volunteers provide the following services:

  • Dog walking
  • Changing litter
  • Shopping for pet supplies
  • Taking pets to the vet
  • Pet grooming
  • and other services

Sunnyside Community Services’ Friendly Visiting Program is supported by Citymeals-on-Wheels, and the Pet Pals Program is supported by Amie’s Place Foundation.
