We enrich lives and strengthen communities through services and engagement for individuals at all ages, beginning with those most in need.
Sunnyside Community Services’ College Readiness Program at Queens Technical High School, The Beacon at P.S. 343, and HANAC at P.S. 19 prepares high school students and recent graduates, ages 14-21, for the college admissions process. Our free program is designed for participants to receive a well-rounded understanding of the system of higher education in order to make the appropriate academic choices that will benefit them in the future. Through SAT classes, college/university admissions and financial aid workshops, college trips, college essay and application-building sessions, reading & writing seminars, creative writing seminars, and individual advisement, students become well-versed on college admissions criteria, build their skills for standardized examinations, improve their writing, locate various scholarship opportunities, and complete necessary applications for college admissions and financial aid. Moreover, CRP participants are prepared to succeed academically and socially when transitioning into their undergraduate years.
If you are an alum of our College Readiness Program, we would love to hear from you. You can like us on Facebook or email us at info@scsny.org!
